June 2 - Vacation Day 4

Today was girls day.  Shay was going to meet some friends and so Maddy and I decided to spend the day at Disneyland together.  We left early to get a jump start on all the rides we had yet to get to.  So we even skipped breakfast at the hotel and walked over to the park.  It was scheduled to open at 9am and we arrived  for the rope drop at 845am.  It was really exciting waiting for the park to open everyone was hyped and ready to get their fun day started....even Maddy started to get ants in her pants waiting.

Then it happened and the race was on.  Everyone was running this way and that way but Maddy and I stayed straight and made a bee line for the Peter pan ride.  Maddy had been asking to ride this ride all week and we had yet to hit the ride with a short line.  Even if the line was long we were determined to wait it out.   We go there with the shortest line we had seen to date.  We only had to wait about 15 min to get on and it was worth it.  What a great ride.  Maddy loved the feeling of flying over the city and just the scenery of the ride in general.  As soon as we got off she wanted to ride it again, but alas the line was almost to the front of the castle.  Good God that was a long line.  So we decided to hit Mr Toad's Wild Ride because the line was short.  It was a cute ride and was definitely wild.

By that time it was 915 and we knew that Princess Fantasy Fair would be opening soon so we headed over just as they opened the line.  We only had to wait about 30 minutes before we were able to see Princess Tiana, Belle and Ariel.  While I think Maddy really enjoyed seeing the Princesses I don't think she was into it as last time.  The conversations were short and she just wanted to take pictures.  But she enjoyed it and that's what mattered.  Afterwards we got her face painted with something subtle because I didn't want to be sweatin in her eyes later and she was really happy with how it turned out.  Though we are still finding glitter everywhere.  How does that always happen.

Since Maddy was the tour guide for the day she wanted to ride Small World once before getting over to Minnie's house.  It was so cute...Maddy was singing along to the music while we were riding through the ride and she loved pointing out all the characters that she recognized.  By this time we were both hungry and before heading over to Minnie's house we stopped to have a snack before moving on.

Thankfully when we got over to Minnie's house the line was short.  Maddy loves Minnie's house.  I think her favorite part was pretending to play at Minnie's make up table and pretending to bake a cake in Minnie's kitchen.

Goofy's house was next door so we jumped over to his house to check it out.  It was a really cute playground that really geared towards smaller kids.  It gave Maddy a chance to just run around and it gave me a chance to rest my feet.  Phew.  I did get a really cute picture of Maddy playing Goofy's piano that I love because she starts piano lessons in a couple of weeks and she went right for the piano so it really showed me how excited she is to start her lessons with Mr. S.

We wanted to catch the Playhouse Disney show but we missed the 1230 show and the next one didn't start till 215 so we had some time to waste.  Maddy said she wanted pizza so we walked over to the pizza place in California Adventure before the show.  Pizza was ok but the company was great, girl time with my favorite girl in my favorite place....you just can't ask for more.  After lunch we still had some time so we walked through the boardwalk and played some games.  Maddy won a frog and she was so proud of herself.

It was getting to be 130 so we started to walk towards where the show was but we ran across the Merry Go Round and of course with it being King Triton's carousel Maddy was all over that and she insisted we ride it twice.  We would have ridden it a third time but I didn't want to be late for the show.

The show was really cute.  We had to sit on the floor which I was a little unsure about but during the show the had the kids get up and dance which was so fun to watch.  Maddy and I were in the front row which was so cool.  They dropped bubbles, leaves and confetti on us which all the kids went crazy for.  I really had a great time and Maddy had a blast.

We were both really exhausted at this point but Maddy wanted to go to the Tiki Room and I hadn't seen that show in a long time so I was game.  But as soon as we walked into Disneyland Maddy said how tired she was so I suggested that we take the train around Disneyland.  She liked that idea and so we hoped on.  I don't think that I have ever ridden that train all the way around the park because I was surprised at all the extra exhibits that they had to show.  Like the Grand Canyon and the dinosaurs.

I don't think Maddy could take anymore so we headed back on the tram and she actually fell asleep on it while we were waiting for the driver to take us back to the hotel.  It was so sweet.  But of course as I am sure you guess that the nap was a power nap and she woke up while we were leaving and was ready to hit the pool when we got back to the hotel.  I kept in her in the kiddie pool because I didn't want her to overdue it.

Shay finally got back and the hotel was having a happy hour so we were able to go get hamburgers and hot dogs.  It was a nice treat.

After a quick stop at the playground we headed back to the room about 7 where I closed the whole room up with blackout curtains and after about 20 minutes I told Maddy that it was bedtime and she said ok....got into bed and promptly went to sleep.  =)
