We started off this morning great. Maddy slept in till 730, so I was able to catch an extra few zzzzz's before we hit the pavement running. We got up, changed and headed to breakfast, just the girls. After breakfast we came back to wait for Papa V to wake up so we could head up. He finally rose from his slumber and we were excited to get rolling. First though we checked in with Grandma on Skype to have a quick chit chat.
After we were all finally dressed and ready to go we got in the car and headed to the Aquarium. We only ran into a little traffic but it wasn't bad. The aquarium is in Long Beach and so it was fun to do something completely new to all three of us. We arrived around noon and headed straight into their 4d movie. Now bugs life was a complete bust at Disneyland but I wanted to try again with a nice little movie about turtles. Maddy was a little scared but really did well. She liked the movie and while it was a little on the save the planet side (I was hoping for a little less seriousness) it was cute and had a nice message that kids could relate too.
When the movie was over Maddy said that she really liked it so I has happy. Then it was onto the animals. This aquarium was AWESOME. It had SO many interactive exhibits and lots of great shows. I think my favorite part was watching the sea otters play. Shay's favorite part was watching the seals and if you asked Maddy I am sure she would say that it was either feeding the birds or playing with some school kids outside.
We finally made it through all the wonderful exhibits so we were going to walk around for a little bit but all three of us were really tired so we decided to just head back to hotel for naps. Maddy napped on the way back so she didn't nap when we got back. I wasn't feeling well so Maddy and Shay hit the pool for awhile so that I could relax.
When they got back we Shay that he was starving so we headed over to IHOP because kids eat free after 4 and Maddy LOVES pancakes for dinner.
We then headed over to the park to see if Peter Pan had a short line......it didn't.
We didn't want to trip over to the park to be a complete bust so we made a quick stop at Autopia before heading back with a new sweatshirt for Grandma and an ice cream cone for Maddy.
Tomorrow Shay is meeting up with friends so its a girls day out at the park which means we are going to be up and out VERY early. =) We might even get to see some princesses.
