Maddy is still sick.  =( She missed her first swim lesson today and she will miss her first piano lesson tomorrow.  Darn fever will just not go away.

But I thought that this picture just conveyed how hot it was today.  Stanley just melted into the floor.

I would have included Maddy's Day 4 of being sick picture but she fell out of bed and hit her face under her nose pretty hard and its not pretty.  So I took a picture of our kitty in Maddy's play stroller.  =)

June 4 - Vacation Day 6

Whoa....Where did this vacation go.  Its our last real day to play and of course it was Maddy's choice.  So we were off to Disneyland early.  =)

This was our last chance to ride all our favs and do a few that we had missed.

First stop was the Tiki Room.  What a great show.  Maddy loved all the singing birds and talking Tikis.  I didn't get any good pictures but I wish that I had taken video of Maddy singing.  What a great memory.

Then it was off to the Land of Winnie the Pooh to visit with Pooh Bear and Tigger.   Then Maddy wanted to reride the Winnie the Pooh ride which we then rode 3 times.  Wow...I was starting to see in bright orange, pink and green everywhere.

It was starting to get really hot and there were more people there today then all the other days.  We had the stroller but it was really hard to get around.  We made a quick stop at Tarzan's tree house and we were out of there.  Maddy really just wanted to be at the pool and the crowds were really just starting to get to me.

The pool time was great.  Maddy made friends with two sisters and they had the whole pool to themselves. The sisters taught Maddy a lot of great fun things to do in the pool. Somersaults and Cannonballs were Maddy's favorite.  Unfortunately we couldn't spend all afternoon and evening there because we needed to meet up with Tommy and his wife at the Santa Monica Pier.

What a great place.  A little dirty but it was fun to say that we went.  Maddy wanted to go down to the beach but I didn't want to deal with all the sand everywhere when we still needed to sit for dinner.  We walked around with everyone for a while and Maddy and Tommy's wife were best friends by the end of dinner.  It was a great way to end a great vacation.

Peter Pan was running around the park and hiding from the kids.  It was hilarious, the kids keep asking him to come out but he kept telling them they were pirates and he didn't want to be captured.  So funny.

June 3 - Vacation Day 5

Today was our day to visit the Los Angeles Zoo.  I was really excited because I love to go to places that are new even though I get so frustrated not being able to navigate around a new park.  We headed out after breakfast and of course hit LA traffic.  It wasn't so bad but anything that is stop and go at 10am in the morning is just so wrong.

The GPS got us there with no problems and we were amazed at how big the zoo looked from the outside.
The selection of animals was awesome and the enclosure were so well done.

Our first stop was at the alligators and the mercats (I think that's how you spell it).  We then hit our first hill and knew that after walking all week our legs would not hold up to a hilly zoo.  So we bought tickets for the tram and we could get off and on as we pleased.  It really made the walking so much more bearable and Maddy really enjoyed riding it.

There were so many amazing animals its impossible to list them all but I will highlight what I can:

We got to see some animals that we have only seen on Diego, like a Tapir and a Maned Wolf

We got to see a mama bird sitting on her eggs which were huge.

The gorilla enclosure was huge and amazing.  Maddy got to go nose to nose with one at the window and I think the gorilla enjoyed watching us more than us watching him.  He was smart too because he would make movements that he wanted the kids to mimic.  He did it over and over again.

After a full day of animals....Maddy was ready for the pool. Maddy made some great friends at the pool again and they played red light green light in the kiddie pool.  So fun to watch.

After the pool we ordered pizza and rested our sore feet.  =)

This rhino had her horn removed because had skin cancer.

The gorilla's have a great enclosure.  It was SO huge.

Maddy got to be up close with one.

Maddy was so tired at the end of the day she was "sleep" walking.

Dad fell for it and picked her up.

But I knew better and she started giggling soon after.
